The Secretary of State for Health, as respects England and Wales, and the Secretary of State for Scotland, as respects Scotland, in exercise of powers conferred by section 2(3) of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) (National Health Service Trusts) Order 1997 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is approved by resolution of each House of Parliament.
2.-(1) The Schedule to the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 (bodies to which that Act applies) shall be amended as follows.
(2) After paragraph 1(k), there shall be added the following sub-paragraph-
"(l)National Health Service trusts established under section 5(1) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990.".
(3) After paragraph 2(d), there shall be added the following sub-paragraph-
"(dd)National Health Service trusts established under section 12A of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978(2).".

This Order amends the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 so that National Health Service trusts in England, Wales and Scotland are added to the Schedule to the Act. That Schedule specifies the bodies whose meetings are to be open to the public as provided for in the Act.
Section 12A was inserted by the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 (c. 19), section 31.
