The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 128(2) and (5) of the Broadcasting Act 1990(1), and having consulted the Cable Authority and the Independent Television Commission, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Dissolution of the Cable Authority Order 1998.
2. The Cable Authority are hereby dissolved with effect from 10th September 1998.

The property, rights and liabilities of the Cable Authority were transferred to the Independent Television Commission on 1 January 1991. The Secretary of State having satisfied himself, after consulting the Cable Authority and the Independent Television Commission, that nothing further remains to be done by the Cable Authority by virtue of Schedule 10 to the Broadcasting Act 1990, dissolves the Cable Authority by means of this Order.
