The M1 Motorway (Junction 15) Detrunking Order 1999

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980(1), and now vested in him(2), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:-�

1. This Order may be cited as the M1 Motorway (Junction 15) Detrunking Order 1999 and shall come into force on 27th August 1999.

2. In this Order-�

(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;

(2)(i)"principal road"as a classification for a highway, means that the highways is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument of which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State;
(ii)"the deposited plan"means the plan folio numbered 065/030/000003, marked -�The M1 Motorway (Junction 15) Detrunking Order 1999', signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Highways Agency, St Christopher House, Southwark Street, London SE1 0TE.
(iii)"the new connecting roads"means the new highways the Secretary of State proposes to construct referred to in article 3 of the M1 Motorway (Junction 15) Connecting Roads Scheme 1999; and
(iv)"the Motorway"means the M1 Motorway.

3. The lengths of the Motorway described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be trunk road and shall be classified as principal road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies Northamptonshire County Council that the new connecting roads are open for through traffic.

THE SCHEDULELENGTHS OF MOTORWAY CEASING TO BE TRUNK ROAD

1. That length of motorway connecting the eastbound carriageway of the Motorway with the A508, from its junction with the A508 for a distance of 18 metres eastwards. (Given the reference letter "A" on the deposited plan).

2. That length of motorway connecting the westbound carriageway of the Motorway with the A508, from its junction with the A508 for a distance of 10 metres eastwards. (Given the reference letter "B" on the deposited plan).
