The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 57(2) of the Crime (Sentences) Act 1997(1), hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Crime (Sentences) Act 1997 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1999.
2. Section 4 of the Crime (Sentences) Act 1997 and, to the extent that each of them is not already in force, the following provisions of that Act shall come into force on 1st December 1999-
(a)section 3;
(b)sections 5 and 6;
(c)section 39;
(d)section 55; and
(e)paragraphs 8, 12(2), 13, 15 and 17 of Schedule 4.

This Order brings into force section 4 of the Crime (Sentences) Act 1997 (minimum of three years for third domestic burglary) on 1st December 1999. It also brings fully into force a number of related provisions in the 1997 Act.
