The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, being designated(1) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(2) in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the said section 2(2), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, makes the following Regulations:
1.-(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (England and Wales) (Amendment) (No. 1) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 15th September 2000.
(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales.
2. In Schedule 3 Part I, paragraph 1, to the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (England and Wales) Regulations 2000(3) after the words "Commission Decision 2000/528/EC (OJ No. L214, 25.8.00, p.42)" there shall be added the following-
"as amended by Commission Decision 2000/542/EC (OJ No. L231, 13.9.00, p.12)".

These Regulations amend Schedule 3 to the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (England and Wales) Regulations 2000 (S.I. 2000/1673 as amended) so as to implement the requirements of Commission Decision 2000/542/EC amending Decision 2000/528/EC concerning certain protection measures relating to Classical Swine Fever in the United Kingdom (OJ No. L231, 13.9.00, p.12).
A regulatory impact assessment has not been made in respect of these Regulations.
1972 c. 68. By Schedule 3, paragraph 5 to the Government of Wales Act 1998 (c. 38) this power remains exercisable by the Minister in relation to Wales.
