The Immigration (Designation of Travel Bans) (Amendment) Order 2000

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 8B(5) of the Immigration Act 1971(1), hereby makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Immigration (Designation of Travel Bans) (Amendment) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 21st December 2000.

2. For the Schedule to the Immigration (Designation of Travel Bans) Order 2000(2) there shall be substituted the Schedule to this Order.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Immigration (Designation of Travel Bans) Order 2000 by adding Common Position 2000/696/CFSP of 10th November 2000 to the list of instruments made by the Council of the European Union which are designated for the purposes of section 8B of the Immigration Act 1971 (as inserted by section 8 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999). Any person named by or under a designated instrument, or of a description specified in it, will be excluded from the United Kingdom (subject to the exceptions specified in article 3 of the Immigration (Designation of Travel Bans) Order 2000).
