1. This Order may be cited as the A249 Trunk Road (Bobbing Junction) (Detrunking) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 15th May 2000.
2. In this Order-�
(i)"classified road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;
(ii)"the Trunk Road" means the A249 Trunk Road.
3. The length of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies Kent County Council that this Order has been made.

The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated at Bobbing near Sittingbourne, starting at a point on the A249 Trunk Road 820 metres north east of its junction with Key Street and proceeding eastwards to, and including, a new roundabout south of Bobbing Primary School, and is shown by broad black dashes on the plan numbered HA10/PS/232 marked "The A249 Trunk Road (Bobbing Junction) (Detrunking) Order 2000" signed by authority of the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions and deposited at the Highways Agency, St. Christopher House, London SE1 0TA.
