GENDER RECOGNITION

The Gender Recognition Act 2004 (Commencement) Order 2005

  Made 11th January 2005 

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 26 of the Gender Recognition Act 2004[1], and having consulted the Scottish Ministers and the Department of Finance and Personnel in Northern Ireland, hereby makes the following Order:

     1. This Order may be cited as The Gender Recognition Act 2004 (Commencement) Order 2005.

    
2. The Gender Recognition Act 2004 shall come into force on the 4th April 2005 in so far as it is not already in force.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order brings into force on the 4th April 2005 those provisions of the Gender Recognition Act 2004 (c. 7) which are not already in force. Sections 23 to 26, 28 and 29 came into force on Royal Assent.
