PENSIONS

The Pensions Increase (Civil Service Injury Benefits Scheme) Regulations 2005

  Made 14th March 2005 
  Laid before Parliament 15th March 2005 
  Coming into force 8th April 2005 

The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(2) and (4) of the Pensions (Increase) Act 1971[1] and now vested in them[2], hereby make the following Regulations:-

Citation and commencement
     1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pensions Increase (Civil Service Injury Benefits Scheme) Regulations 2005, and shall come into force on 8th April 2005, but shall have effect from 1st October 2002.

Interpretation
    
2. In these Regulations:

Pensions to which the 1971 Act will apply
    
3. The 1971 Act shall have effect in relation to any pensions payable under the scheme (being a scheme under section 1 of the Superannuation Act 1972[3] made by virtue of section 2(2) of that Act) as if they were pensions specified in Part I of Schedule 2 to the 1971 Act.

Revocation
     4. The Pensions Increase (Civil Service Injury Benefits Scheme) Regulations 2004[4] are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations apply the provisions of the Pensions (Increase) Act 1971 to any pension payable under the Civil Service Injury Benefits Scheme. The rate of any such pension is thereby increased annually in accordance with the Retail Prices Index. They revoke the Pensions Increase (Civil Service Injury Benefits Scheme) Regulations 2004.
