HIGHWAYS, ENGLAND

The A419 Trunk Road (Commonhead Junction Improvement and Slip Roads) Order 2005

  Made 6th July 2005 
  Coming into force 20th July 2005 

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 41 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:

     1. This Order may be cited as the A419 Trunk Road (Commonhead Junction Improvement and Slip Roads) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 20th July 2005.

    
2. In this Order—

    (1) all measurements of distance are measured along the routes of the relevant highways;

    (2)

     3. The new main road and the slip roads shall become trunk roads from the date when this Order comes into force.

    
4. The centre line of each of the new trunk roads is indicated by a heavy black line on the plan.

    
5. The Secretary of State directs as respects any part of a highway which crosses the route of any of the new trunk roads that—

until, in either case, a date to be specified in a notice given by the Secretary of State to the highway authority for that highway. The date specified will not be later than the date on which the relevant route is opened for traffic.

SCHEDULE 1

ROUTE OF THE NEW MAIN ROAD


The route of the new main road is about 1.77 kilometres (1.1 miles) overall in length from a point on the existing A419, marked A on the plan, about 880 metres north of the midpoint of the roundabout at Commonhead Junction, to a point on the A419, marked B on the plan, about 610 metres (670 yards) north of the midpoint of the motorway interchange at Junction 15 on the M4 motorway.



SCHEDULE 2

ROUTES OF THE SLIP ROADS


The routes of the slip roads are four routes (given the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the plan) to connect the new main road with the existing roundabout at Commonhead Junction and the local road network.
