EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order corrects amendments made to the Export of Goods, Transfer of Technology and Provision of Technical Assistance (Control) Order 2003 ("the 2003 Order") and the Trade in Goods (Control) Order 2003 ("the Trade Order") by the Export Control (Security and Para-Military Goods) Order 2006 (S.I. 2006/1696).

Articles 3 and 4 amend the 2003 Order to provide that goods of a description in Schedule 1A to that Order are prohibited to be exported to any of the Channel Islands and to provide for a control on transit to and from any of the Channel Islands. Article 5 removes unnecessary wording from article 21 of the 2003 Order.

Articles 6 and 7 amend articles 3 and 4 of the Trade Order so the controls therein will not apply to the removal of certain goods from a Member State to the Channel Islands or from the Channel Islands to a Member State.

A regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on the costs of business.
