The Lord Chief Justice of England, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 49 of the Courts-Martial (Appeals) Act 1968[1], and with the approval of the Lord Chancellor, hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation, commencement and interpretation
1.
These Rules may be cited as the Courts-Martial Appeal (Amendment No.2) Rules 2007 and shall come into force on 28th May 2007
Amendments to the Courts-Martial Appeal Rules 1968
2.
—(1) The Courts-Martial Appeal Rules 1968[2] shall be amended as follows.
(2) For the definition of legal adviser in paragraph (3)(c) of rule 8C there is substituted—
"
(c) is a member of the Bar of Northern Ireland or a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Northern Ireland; or"

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
These Rules amend the definition of "legal adviser" in the Courts-Martial Appeal Rules 1968 (S.I. 1968/1071) so as to make reference to a member of the Bar of Northern Ireland or a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Northern Ireland.
