The Electoral Commission[1], in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 17[2] and 26[3] of the Local Government Act 1992, make the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.
—(1) This Order may be cited as the District of Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2007.
(2) This Order comes into force on the day after that on which it is made.
Amendment to the 2007 Order
2.
—(1) The District of Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) Order 2007[4] shall be amended as follows:
(2) In article 2 the words "Revised (2007) Map referred to in the District of Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) Order 2007" shall be substituted for the words "Map referred to in the District of Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) Order 2007".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order substitutes a new map for that originally referred to in the District of Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) Order 2007, in order to give full effect to recommendations by the Boundary Committee for England, a committee of the Electoral Commission, for electoral changes in the district of Newark and Sherwood.
Prints of the map may be inspected at all reasonable times at the offices of Newark and Sherwood District Council and at the principal office of the Electoral Commission at Trevelyan House, Great Peter Street, London SW1P 2HW or may be viewed on the Boundary Committee for England's website at www.boundarycommittee.org.uk/your-area/newarkandsher.cfm.

The Electoral Commission was established by the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (c.41). The functions of the Secretary of State, under sections 13 to 15 and 17 of the Local Government Act 1992 Act (c.19), to the extent that they relate to electoral changes within the meaning of that Act, were transferred with modifications to the Electoral Commission by the Local Government Commission for England (Transfer of Functions) Order 2001 (S.I. 2001/3962).back
