(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Army Terms of Service Regulations 2007 ("the 2007 Regulations").
Regulation 2 provides for regulation 11(2) of the 2007 Regulations to be amended so that the calculation of the notice period, which a person who has enlisted in the regular army has to complete before exercising the right to be transferred to the reserve, begins with the date of the person´s enlistment or their 18th birthday, whichever is the later.
Regulation 3 revokes the Army Terms of Service (Part-time Service in Northern Ireland) Regulations 1992 consequent on the disbandment of the Northern Ireland resident battalions of the Royal Irish Regiment (to which they relate).
