(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order, made under the Digital Switchover (Disclosure of Information) Act 2007 (c. 8), amends the Digital Switchover (Disclosure of Information) Act (Prescription of Information) Order 2007 (S.I. 2007 No. 1768). Under the Scheme, certain groups of people can get help to convert their television equipment to digital reception. This Order substitutes references to the previous Digital Switchover Help Scheme for the amended Digital Switchover Help Scheme agreed between the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport and the BBC on 28th March 2008 with a consequential amendment to the reference to that Scheme in the definition of "qualifying individual". The Digital Switchover Help Scheme (Cm 7356) can be obtained from The Stationery Office (TSO) or the following website: www.digitaltelevision.gov.uk.
