The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 86(10) and (12) of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999(1), makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Immigration Services Commissioner (Designated Professional Body) (Fees) Order 2009 and shall come into force on 31st March 2009.
2.–(1) The fee to be paid to the Immigration Services Commissioner by each designated professional body for the year 1st April 2008 to 31st March 2009 shall be the sum specified in the Schedule to this Order.
(2) The fee shall be paid on or before 7 April 2009.

This Order specifies the fee to be paid by the designated professional bodies to the Immigration Services Commissioner ("Commissioner") for the purpose of meeting the costs incurred by her in discharging her functions under Part 5 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.
The level of the fee varies according to the designated professional body concerned. The different level of fee is designed to reflect the cost of the Commissioner´s regulatory activity referable to each particular body.
The fees specified in the Schedule to this Order reflect the referable costs incurred in the course of the Commissioner´s regulatory activity in the period 1st April 2007 to 31st March 2008.
