The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 143(1), 144(4) and 149(1) of the Pensions Act 2008(1).
1.–(1) This Order may be cited as the Pensions Act 2008 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2009.
(2) In this Order "the Act" means the Pensions Act 2008.
2.–(1) The following provisions of the Act come into force on 29th June 2009–
(a) section 126 (amendment of provisions of Pensions Act 2004 relating to contribution notices or financial support directions) in so far as that section is not already in force, and
(b) in Schedule 9 (contribution notices and financial support directions under Pensions Act 2004)–
(i) paragraph 4, and
(ii) paragraphs 1, 2, 8 and 15 in so far as those paragraphs are not already in force.
(2) Section 74 (review) of the Act comes into force on 1st July 2009.

This Order brings into force provisions in the Pension Act 2008 (c.30) (the "Act") on 29th June 2009 and 1st July 2009. The provisions brought into force on 29th June 2009 concern amendments of the Pensions Act 2004 relating to contribution notices and financial support directions. The provision brought into force on 1st July 2009 concerns the review of certain aspects of a scheme established under section 67 of the Act.
A full Impact Assessment has not been published for this Order as no impact on the private, public or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
