The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 113A(1)(b) and 125 of the Police Act 1997(1), makes the following Regulations:
1.–(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records) (Amendment) Regulations 2009 and shall come into force on 1st October 2009.
(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales.
2. In regulation 4(a) of the Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records) Regulations 2002(2) for "£31" substitute "£26" (fees for criminal records certificates and enhanced criminal records certificates).

These Regulations amend the Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records) Regulations 2002 by reducing the fee for an application made under section 113A of the Police Act 1997 for a criminal records certificate from £31 to £26 with effect from 1st October 2009. No fee is payable in relation to an application made by a volunteer under this section.
