This Order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraphs 8(1) of Schedule 8 and 3(1) of Schedule 10 to the Traffic Management Act 2004(1).
Oxfordshire County Council has applied to the Secretary of State for an order to be made under these powers in respect of part of its area.
The Secretary of State has consulted the Chief Constable of the Thames Valley Police in accordance with the requirements of paragraphs 8(3) of Schedule 8 and 3(4) of Schedule 10.
Accordingly, the Secretary of State for Transport(2) makes this Order.
1. This Order may be cited as the Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (County of Oxfordshire) (District of West Oxfordshire) Designation Order 2009 and shall come into force on 25th January 2010.
2.-"(1) The Secretary of State designates the area described in paragraph (2) as-"
(a) a civil enforcement area for parking contraventions; and
(b) a special enforcement area.
(2) This Order applies to the area of the district of West Oxfordshire with the exception of the dual carriageway section of the A40, including its on and off slip roads, from its eastern end within the parish of South Leigh (at Ordnance Survey National Grid reference point SP388101) to the roundabout at Asthall Barrow where it intersects with the B4047 and becomes a single carriageway (at Ordnance Survey National Grid reference point SP288101).

This Order designates the area described in article 2 as a civil enforcement area in respect of parking contraventions, and as a special enforcement area, for the purposes of Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
