The Treasury make this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 30 of the Government Resources and Accounts Act 2000(1).
1. This Order may be cited as The Government Resources and Accounts Act 2000 (Commencement No. 2 and Transitional Provision) Order 2010.
2. Section 11 of the Government Resources and Accounts Act 2000 comes into force on 2nd March 2010.
3. The provision brought into force by this Order shall have effect in relation to accounts prepared in respect of any financial year ending on or after 31st March 2010.

This Order brings into force section 11 (which relates to the scrutiny of whole of government accounts) of the Government Resources and Accounts Act 2000 (c.20). It is the only provision of the Act which is not already in force. The other extant provisions which did not come into force on Royal Assent were commenced by S.I. 2000/3349 (C.111): for more detail see the Explanatory Note to that Order.
The scrutiny arrangements are to apply to accounts prepared in respect of financial years that end on or after 31st March 2010.
