(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Parliamentary Elections (Welsh Forms) Order 2007 (S.I. 2007/1014) ("the 2007 Order"), which prescribes Welsh versions of certain forms or forms of words which may be used at United Kingdom parliamentary elections held in Wales. The English version of these forms are provided for in the Appendix of Forms to Schedule 1 to the Representation of the People Act 1983 (c.2).
Principally, this Order makes a minor amendment to the Form of Front of Ballot Paper (article 2(2)(a)) and amends the form of nomination paper to remove the -home address´ column (article 2(3)). These changes follow amendments made by section 24 of and paragraph 8 of Schedule 6 to the Political Parties and Elections Act 2009 (c.12) which enable candidates standing for election at a parliamentary election to choose that their home address does not appear on the ballot paper at the election.
Separately, article 2(2)(c) of the Order replaces the Welsh term used for -independent´ at article 4(3) of the 2007 Order.
