The Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 108(10) of the Children Act 1989(1):
1. This Order may be cited as the Isles of Scilly (Children Act 1989) Order 2010 and comes into force on 26th April 2010.
2.–(1) The Children Act 1989 shall in its application to the Isles of Scilly have effect with the modification in paragraph (2).
(2) In relation to the Isles of Scilly, any reference to a "local authority"(2) is to be construed as a reference to the Council of the Isles of Scilly.

This Order is made under section 108(10) of the Children Act 1989 and comes into force on 26th April 2010.
This Order modifies the application of the Children Act 1989 to the Isles of Scilly so that, in relation to the Isles of Scilly, the expression "local authority" means the Council of the Isles of Scilly.
