The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 135(1) of, and paragraph 1 of Schedule 26 to, the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980(1), makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) (Amendment) Order 2011 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is approved by resolution of each House of Parliament.
2. In article 3(2) of the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 2004(2) for "eleven" substitute "seven".

The West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 2004 ("the 2004 Order") established three areas in Northamptonshire as an urban development area, and established the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation ("the Corporation") to regenerate the area.
Article 3 of the 2004 Order provides that the Corporation shall consist of eleven members in addition to the chairman and deputy chairman. Article 2 amends article 3(2) to provide that the Corporation shall consist of seven members in addition to the chairman and deputy chairman.
No Impact Assessment has been prepared for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
1980 c. 65. Section 135 was amended by section 179(4) of the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993. The functions of the Secretary of State under sections 134 and 135 and paragraph 1 of Schedule 26 are now exercisable by the Welsh Ministers so far as they are exercisable in relation to Wales. They were previously transferred to the National Assembly for Wales by the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/672), article 2; see the entry in Schedule 1 for the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980. By virtue of paragraphs 30 and 32 of Schedule 11 to the Government of Wales Act 2006 (c. 32) they were transferred to the Welsh Ministers.
