Coming into force in accordance with article 2(1)
In accordance with section 4(2) of the Coroners Act 1988(1), and having complied with the provisions of the Coroners (Orders as to Districts) Rules 1927(2), the council of the county of Lincolnshire have submitted to the Secretary of State a draft Order providing for the alternation of coroners' districts in the county of Lincolnshire.
The Secretary of State has made such modifications to the draft Order as he thinks fit.
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 4(2) of that Act, makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Lincolnshire (Coroners' Districts) Order 2012.
2.-(1) This Order shall come into force-
(a)on 1st April 2012 in respect of article 3;
(b)on 1st June 2012 in respect of article 4.
(2) This Order shall not have effect in relation to any inquest in an existing district started before the day on which it comes into force in relation to that district or to any post mortem examination which, before that day, a coroner in that district has directed or requested a medical practitioner to make.
3. The existing coroners' districts of West Lincolnshire and Spilsby and Louth shall be amalgamated to form a single coroner's district to be known as the Central Lincolnshire Coroner's District.
4. The existing coroners' districts of Stamford and Boston and Spalding shall be amalgamated to form a single coroner's district to be known as the South Lincolnshire Coroner's District.
5. The Lincolnshire (Coroners' Districts) Order 2003(3) is revoked.

Article 3 of this Order amalgamates the two coroners' districts of West Lincolnshire and Spilsby and Louth into one coroner's district as from 1st April 2012 to be known as the Central Lincolnshire Coroner's District.
Article 4 of this Order amalgamates the two coroners' districts of Stamford and Boston and Spalding into one coroner's district as from 1st June 2012 to be known as the South Lincolnshire Coroner's District.
