The Children Act 2004 (Commencement No. 9) (Wales) Order 2013

The Secretary of State for Education, having consulted the National Assembly for Wales, makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 67(5) of the Children Act 2004(1).

Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Children Act 2004 (Commencement No. 9) (Wales) Order 2013.

Provisions coming into force

2.  The following provisions of section 28 of the Children Act 2004 come into force on 9th September 2013:

(a)subsection (1)(d) to (h);

(b)subsection (2), so far as relating to the persons and bodies referred to in subsection (1)(d) to (h); and

(c)subsection (5).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force subsections (1)(d) to (h), (2) (so far as it relates to the persons and bodies referred to in subsection (1)(d) to (h)) and (5) of section 28 of the Children Act 2004 on 9th September 2013.

These provisions place duties on the persons and bodies in Wales listed in paragraphs (d) to (h) of subsection (1) to ensure that their functions are discharged having regard to the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
