This Statutory Instrument has been made in consequence of an omission in SI 2001/1139 and is being issued free of charge to all known recipients of that Statutory Instrument.

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 27(4) of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984(1), makes the following Regulations.
1. These Regulations may be cited as the National Police Records (Recordable Offences) (Amendment) Regulations 2016 and come into force on 14th November 2016.
2.-(1) The Schedule to the National Police Records (Recordable Offences) Regulations 2000(2) is amended as follows.
(2) After paragraph 3 insert-
"3A. section 31(1)(c) of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998(3) (offence of racially or religiously aggravated harassment, alarm or distress);".

These Regulations amend the National Police Records (Recordable Offences) Regulations 2000 to make an offence contrary to section 31(1)(c) of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 (racially or religiously aggravated harassment, alarm or distress) a recordable offence.
S.I. 2000/1139 as amended by S.I. 2003/2823, S.I. 2005/3106, S.I. 2007/2121 and S.I. 2012/1713.
1998 c. 37; section 31(1) was amended by section 39 of the Anti-terrorism, Crime and Security Act 2001 (2001 c. 24).
