The Armed Forces Act 2011 (Commencement No. 6) Order 2016

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 32(3) of the Armed Forces Act 2011(1).

Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Armed Forces Act 2011 (Commencement No. 6) Order 2016.

Provision coming into force on 23rd December 2016

2.  Section 21 of the Armed Forces Act 2011 comes into force on 23rd December 2016.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force section 21 of the Armed Forces Act 2011 (c. 18) on 23rd December 2016. Section 21 amends section 365 of the Armed Forces Act 2006 (c. 52) so that the Director of Service Prosecutions may appoint civilians with prescribed qualifications to be prosecuting officers in the Service Prosecuting Authority.
