The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 46(1) and (2) of the Neighbourhood Planning Act 2017(1), makes the following Regulations:

Citation

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Neighbourhood Planning Act 2017 (Commencement No. 6) Regulations 2019.

Provision coming into force on 4th July 2019

2.  Section 8(2) (content of development plan documents) of the Neighbourhood Planning Act 2017 comes into force on 4th July 2019.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations bring into force section 8(2) of the Neighbourhood Planning Act 2017 (c.20) on 4th July 2019. Section 8(2) amends section 34 (guidance) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (c.5) to require the Secretary of State to issue guidance for local planning authorities on how their local development documents (taken as a whole) should address housing need that results from old age or disability.
