The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 75(3) of the Immigration Act 2014( 1).
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Immigration Act 2014 (Commencement No. 8) Order 2023.
(2) This Order extends to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
2. The day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Immigration Act 2014 is 28th November 2023 so far as not already in force—
(a) section 23(6) (power to amend the amount for the time being specified in section 23(2)); and
(b) section 25(5) (power to amend the amount for the time being specified in section 25(4)).

This Order is the eighth commencement order made under the Immigration Act 2014 (c. 22).
Article 2 brings into force on 6th December 2024 sections 23(6) and 25(5) of the Immigration Act 2014, so far as not already in force. Those same provisions were previously brought into force in respect of premises located in the areas of five local authorities in England by S.I. 2014/2771and in respect of premises located in the rest of England by S.I. 2016/11.
