Speech by Lord Justice Jack Beatson FBA

I have been told that the phrase "New Model" in my title sounds a bit Cromwellian. But it is meant only to reflect the changes in the judiciary in the decade since the abolition of the historic office of Lord Chancellor and its re-creation as an office with a dual aspect and functions as both Lord Chancellor and a Secretary of State, which some have said are incompatible.
