SOCIAL SECURITY

The Social Security Act 1998 (Prescribed Benefits) Regulations 2006

  Made 14th September 2006 
  Laid before Parliament 21st September 2006 
  Coming into force 16th October 2006 

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 8(3)(h), 79(1) and 84 of the Social Security Act 1998[1].

     In accordance with section 173(1)(b) of the Social Security Administration Act 1992[2], the Secretary of State has obtained the agreement of the Social Security Advisory Committee that proposals in respect of these Regulations need not be referred to it.

Citation and commencement
     1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security Act 1998 (Prescribed Benefits) Regulations 2006 and shall come into force on 16th October 2006.

2. The benefits prescribed for the purposes of section 8(3)(h) of the Social Security Act 1998 (decisions by Secretary of State) are—

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations prescribe benefits for the purposes of the definition of "relevant benefit" under section 8(3) of the Social Security Act 1998.

A full regulatory impact assessment has not been carried out as these Regulations do not impose a cost on business, charities or the voluntary sector.
