Coming into force

1. The new highways which the Welsh Ministers propose to construct along the routes described in Schedule 1 to this Order shall become trunk roads as from the date when this Order comes into force.
2. The centre lines of the new trunk roads are indicated by heavy black lines on the deposited plan.
3. The length of trunk road described in Schedule 2 to this Order, and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited map is to cease to be a trunk road and is to become an unclassified road as from the date on which the Welsh Assembly Government notifies the County Borough Council of Conwy that the new trunk roads are open for through traffic.
4. In this Order:
all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
"the deposited plan" ("y plan a adneuwyd") means the plan numbered HA 10/2 NAFW 17 marked 'The Cardiff to Glan Conwy Trunk Road (A470) (Penloyn to Tan Lan Improvement) Order 2008' , signed on behalf of the Welsh Ministers and deposited at the Welsh Assembly Government Record Storage and Retrieval Unit (RSRU), Neptune Point, Ocean Way, Cardiff;
"the trunk road" ("y gefnffordd") means the Cardiff to Glan Conwy Trunk Road (A470);
"the new trunk roads"' ("y cefnffyrdd newydd") means the highways mentioned in article 1 of this Order and 'a new trunk road' means one of those highways.
5. This Order comes into force on 30 October 2008 and its title is "The Cardiff to Glan Conwy Trunk Road (A470) (Penloyn to Tan Lan Improvement) Order 2008"

The routes of the new trunk roads are routes north of Llanrwst between Penloyn and Tan Lan in the County Borough of Conwy as follows:–
(1) a route about 0.14 kilometres in length, starting at a point 390 metres south of the centre of the junction between the existing A470 trunk road and the unclassified road to Llanddoged at Tan Lan (shown marked A on the deposited plan) and extending in a northerly direction to a point 250 metres south of the centre of the junction between the existing A470 trunk road and the unclassified road to Llanddoged at Tan Lan (shown marked B on the deposited plan).
(2) a route about 0.79 kilometres in length, starting at a point 110 metres south of the centre of the junction between the existing A470 trunk road and the unclassified road to Llanddoged at Tan Lan (shown marked C on the deposited plan) and extending in a northerly direction to a point 680 metres north of the centre of the junction between the existing A470 trunk road and the unclassified road to Llanddoged at Tan Lan (shown marked D on the deposited plan).
The length of trunk road ceasing to be trunk road is that length of the A470 trunk road in the County Borough of Conwy about 0.79 kilometres in length situated between a point 110 metres south of the centre of the junction between the existing A470 trunk road and the unclassified road to Llanddoged at Tan Lan (shown marked CC on the deposited plan) and extending in a northerly direction to a point 680 metres north of the centre of the junction between the existing A470 trunk road and the unclassified road to Llanddoged at Tan Lan (shown marked DD on the deposited plan).
