(This note is not part of the Regulations)

Section 89(1) of the Coronavirus Act 2020 provides that the Act expires at the end of the period of 2 years beginning with the day on which it is passed, subject to subsection (2) of that section and section 90 of the Act.

Section 90(2) of the Act provides that a relevant national authority may, by regulations, provide that any provision of the Act does not expire at the time when it would otherwise expire and expires instead at such later time as is specified in the regulations.
