The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 188(1) and (3) of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016( 1), make the following Order.
1.—(1) The title of this Order is the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 (Commencement No. 8) Order 2025.
(2) In this Order, “ the Act” means the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016.
2. 31 March 2025 is the appointed day for the coming into force of section 160(5) of the Act.

This is the eighth Commencement Order made by the Welsh Ministers under the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 (“ the Act”). It brings into force section 160(5) of the Act on 31 March 2025.
Section 160(5) provides Social Care Wales with the power to apply to the First-tier Tribunal for an order requiring the supply of information or production of documents, requested in accordance with section 160, where either of these is being withheld.
