S.I. No. 363/1983:

ROAD TRAFFIC (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1978 (PART III) REGULATIONS, 1983.

ROAD TRAFFIC (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1978 (PART III) REGULATIONS, 1983.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 26 of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (No. 19 of 1978) hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Part III) Regulations, 1983.

2. These Regulations and the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Part III) Regulations, 1978 ( S.I. No. 193 of 1978 ) shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Part III) Regulations 1978 and 1983.

3. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1984.

4. The Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Part III) Regulations 1978 are hereby amended by the substitution for the Second Schedule thereto of the following:--

"SECOND SCHEDULE.

Certificate to be issued by the Medical Bureau of Road Safety under section 22 of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 .

Particulars relating to specimen received for analysis, as shown on the form completed by designated registered medical practitioner:--

1. Name and address of person from whom the specimen was taken or who provided the specimen.

2. Nature of specimen. (Insert "blood" or "urine" as appropriate)

3. Garda station at which specimen was taken or provided.

______________________________

4. Date on which specimen was taken or provided.

______________________________

5. Time at which specimen was taken or provided.

The Medical Bureau of Road Safety certifies that on analysis by the Bureau the specimen to which the above particulars relate contained a concentration of ___________ milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood or urine,

(Delete whichever is not appropriate)

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Part III) Regulations, 1978 so as to revise the certificates issued under section 22 of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 , in relation to the manner of authentication of the seal of the Bureau.
