I, John O'Donoghue, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 57A (as inserted by Section 23 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act 2001 ) ( No. 15 of 1994 ) (as adapted by the Justice (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 1997 ( S.I. No. 298 of 1997 )), following consultation with the Minister for Finance, order as follows: 1. This order may be cited as the Criminal Justice Act 1994 (Section 57A) Order 2002. 2. This Order shall come into operation on the 2nd day of April 2002. 3. For the purposes of the said section 57A Nauru is designated as a state that in the opinion of the Minister has not in place adequate procedures for the detection of money laundering. |

This Regulation designates Nauru as a state that does not have in place adequate procedures for the detection of money laundering pursuant to Section 57A of Section 23 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act 2001 . |
