European Communities (Newcastle Disease) (Control on Imports of Avian Products from Australia) (Amendment) Regulations 2002

I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 ( No. 27 of 1972 ), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Decision No. 2002/537/EC of 2 July 2002¹ and Commission Decision No. 2002/942/EC of 29 November 2002² , hereby make the following regulations:-

1.         These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Newcastle Disease) (Control on Imports of Avian Products from Australia) (Amendment) Regulations 2002.

2.         The European Communities (Newcastle Disease) (Control on Imports of Avian Products from Australia) Regulations 2002 ( S.I. No. 351 of 2002 ) are amended, in Article 2(1), by the substitution for the definition of “Commission Decision”, of -

“‘Commission Decision’ means Commission Decision No. 2002/537/EC of 2 July 2002 as amended by Commission Decision No. 2002/942/EC of 29 November 2002;”.

These Regulations amend controls on the import of avian products from Australia having regard to the outbreak of Newcastle Disease.
