NATIONAL TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY ACT 2003 (Section 5) ORDER 2003

I, John O'Donoghue, Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 5 of the National Tourism Development Authority Act 2003 ( No. 10 of 2003 ), hereby order as follows:

1.        This Order may be cited as the National Tourism Development Authority Act 2003 (Section 5) Order 2003.

2.        The 28th day of May, 2003 is appointed as the day on which the repeals effected by section 5 of the National Tourism Development Authority Act 2003 ( No. 10 of 2003 ) come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

This order appoints the 28th day of May 2003 as the day on which the repeals effected by section 5 of the National Tourism Development Authority Act 2003 ( No. 10 of 2003 ) come into operation.

The purpose of the National Tourism Development Authority Act, 2003, is to establish a statutory body to promote tourism and the development of tourism facilities and services in Ireland. Section 5 provides for the repeal of certain provision of the Tourist Traffic Acts relating to the corporate governance of Bord Fáilte éireann Ltd, whose functions are subsumed by the new Authority.
