I, Michael McDowell, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (9) of section 57A (inserted by section 23 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act 2001 ( No. 15 of 1994 ) as adapted by the Justice (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 1997 ( S.I. No. 298 of 1997 ), after consultation with the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows: 1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice Act 1994 (Section 57A) (Revocation) Order 2003. |

(2) This Order comes into operation on 4th June 2003. 2. The Criminal Justice Act 1994 (Section 57A) (Order (S.I. No. 44 of 2003) is revoked. |

Following on from a decision taken on 14 February 2003 by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) withdrawing the designation of Ukraine as a non-co-operative country / territory, this Regulation revokes S.I No. 44 of 2003 (which had designated Ukraine as a state that did not have in place adequate procedures for the detection of money-laundering pursuant to Section 57A of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act 2001 ). |
