I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 ( No. 27 of 1972 ), for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive 2003/5/EC of 10 January 20031 , Commission Directive 2003/23/EC of 25 March 20032 , Commission Directive 2003/31/EC of 11 April 20033 , Commission Directive 2003/39/EC of 15 May 20034 and Commission Directive 2003/68/EC of 11 July 20035 , hereby make the following regulations:- 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Authorisation, Placing on the Market, Use and Control of Plant Protection Products) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force in respect of Trifloxystrobinin, Carfentrazone ethyl, Mesotrione, Fenamidone and Isoxaflutole from 1 April 2004. 2. The European Communities (Authorisation, Placing on the Market, Use and Control of Plant Protection Products) Regulations 2003 ( S.I. No. 83 of 2003 ) are amended, in Regulation 2(1), by substituting for the definition of “Directive of 1991”- |

These Regulations give effect to Commission Directive 2003/5/EC of 10 January 2003’ Commission Directive 2003/23/EC of 25 March 2003, Commission Directive 2003/31/EC of 11 April 2003 Commission Directive 2003/39/EC of 15 May 2003 and Commission Directive 2003/68/EC of 11 July 2003. These Regulations, which amend Council Directive 91/414/EEC concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market, consolidate Annex I of that Directive and provide for the inclusion of the active substances: Flumioxazine, Deltamethrin, Imazamox, Oxasulfuron, Ethoxysulfuron, Foramsulfuron, Oxadiargyl, Cyazofamid, 2,4-DB, Beta-cyfluthrin, Cyfluthrin, Iprodione, Linuron, Maleic hydrazide, Pendimethalin, Propineb, Propyzamide, Trifloxystrobinin, Carfentrazone ethyl, Mesotrione, Fenamidone and Isoxaflutole Annex I to Council Directive 91/414/EEC. |
