1.  (1)  These Regulation may be cited as the European Communities (Pesticide Residues) (Cereals) (Amendment) Regulations 2004.

(2)  These Regulations come into operation on--

(a)  1 April 2004 in relation to 2,4-DB,

(b)  4 June 2004 in relation to linuron, pendimethalin, imazamox, oxasulfuron, ethoxysulfuron, foramsulfuron, oxadiargyl and cyazofamid, and

(c)  1 December 2004 in relation to acephate and parathion-methyl.

2.  The Europen Communities (Pesticide Residues) (Cereal) Regulations 1999 ( S.I. No. 181 of 1999 ) is amended in Regulation 2(1) by substituting for the definition “Directive” the following--

These Regulations amend existing Regulations on the fixing of maximum residue levels for pesticides in and on cereals.
