1.  (1)  These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Pesticide Residues) (Products of Plant Origin including Fruit and Vegetables) (Amendment) Regulations 2004.

(2)  These Regulations come into operation on--

(a)  1 April 2004 in relation to 2,4-D,

(b)  4 June 2004 in relation to 2,4-DB, linuron, pendimethalin, imazamox, oxasulfuron, ethoxysulfuron, foramsulfuron, oxadiargyl and cyazofamid, and

(c)  1 December 2004 in relation to Acephate and Paration-methyl.

2.  The European Communities (Pesticide Residues) (Products of Plant Origin including Fruit and Vegetables) Regulations 1999 ( S.I. No. 179 of 1999 ) is amended in Regulation 2(1) by substituting for “Directive” the following--

These Regulations amend existing regulations on the maximum residue levels for pesticide residues in and on products of plant origin, including fruit and vegetables.
