Finance Act 2003 (Commencement of Chapter 1 of Part 2) Order 2004

I, Charlie McCreevy, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 86 of the Finance Act 2003 ( No. 3 of 2003 ), hereby order as follows:

1.   This Order may be cited as the Finance Act 2003 (Commencement of Chapter 1 of Part 2) Order 2004.

2.   The 1st day of July, 2004, is appointed as the day on which Chapter 1 of Part 2 of the Finance Act 2003 comes into operation

This order appoints the 1st day of July, 2004 for the coming into operation of Chapter 1 of Part 2 of the Finance Act 2003 , which consolidates and modernises the excise law on alcohol products.
