Definitions. 7. In this Act The term "friendly society" means a friendly society registered under the Friendly Societies Act, 1896, and includes a registered branch, and in application to .... Ireland the word "registrar" means the registrar as defined in that Act: The expression "shop club" or "thrift fund" means every club and society for providing benefits to workmen in connection with a workshop, factory, dock, shop or warehouse.
