SOCIAL SECURITY

The Back to Work Bonus (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2004

  Made 7th July 2004 
  Coming into operation 25th October 2004 

The Department for Social Development, in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 28 and 36 of the Jobseekers (Northern Ireland) Order 1995[1], and now vested in it[2], and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement
     1. These Regulations may be cited as the Back to Work Bonus (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2004 and shall come into operation on 25th October 2004 immediately after the coming into operation of the Social Security (Back to Work Bonus and Lone Parent Run-on Amendment and Revocation) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003[3].

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)


These Regulations amend the Social Security (Back to Work Bonus and Lone Parent Run-on Amendment and Revocation) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 to provide for an extended period of transitional protection for claimants who comply with the requirements contained in the Social Security (Back to Work Bonus) (No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 on or before 28th January 2005.

These Regulations make in relation to Northern Ireland only provision corresponding to provision contained in Regulations made by the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions in relation to Great Britain and accordingly, by virtue of section 149(3) of, and paragraph 10 of Schedule 5 to, the Social Security Administration (Northern Ireland) Act 1992 (c. 8), are not subject to the requirement of section 149(2) of that Act for prior reference to the Social Security Advisory Committee.

These Regulations do not impose a charge on business.
