The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 1977[1] and by section 5(1) of, and paragraph 29(1) of Schedule 2 to, the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990[2] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, considering it appropriate in the interests of the health service to make this Order[3] and after completion of the consultation prescribed under paragraph 29(3) of Schedule 2 to the latter Act[4], hereby makes the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Nottingham Healthcare and the Central Nottinghamshire Healthcare National Health Service Trusts (Dissolution) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 1st April 2001.
Dissolution of NHS trusts

- (1) The Nottingham Healthcare National Health Service Trust established by the Nottingham Healthcare National Health Service (Establishment) Order 1993[5] is hereby dissolved, and accordingly that Order is hereby revoked.
(2) The Central Nottinghamshire Healthcare National Health Service Trust established by the Central Nottinghamshire Healthcare National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1992[6] is hereby dissolved, and accordingly that Order is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order dissolves on 1st April 2001 the Nottingham Healthcare National Health Service Trust, and the Central Nottinghamshire Healthcare National Health Service Trust.
It should be read in conjunction with the Nottinghamshire Healthcare National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 2000[7] which establishes a new NHS trust, together with the King's Mill Centre for Health Care Services National Health Service Trust Change of Name and (Establishment) Amendment Order 2001[8]. In addition, it should be read in conjunction with the Ashfield Primary Care Trust (Establishment) Order 2001[9], the Mansfield District Primary Care Trust (Establishment) Order 2000[10], The Newark and Sherwood Primary Care Trust (Establishment) Order 2000[11] The Nottingham City Primary Care Trust (Establishment) Order 2001[12], and The Rushcliffe Primary Care Trust (Establishment) Order 2001[13]. These trusts are to carry out certain functions previously carried out by the trust which is dissolved by this order.
