EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Immigration (Designation of Travel Bans) Order 2000 in three ways. Firstly, Resolution 1343 (2001) of 7th March 2001 is added to the list of resolutions made by the Security Council of the United Nations which are designated for the purposes of section 8B of the Immigration Act 1971 (as inserted by section 8 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999). Secondly, Common Position 2001/155/CFSP of 26th February 2001 is added to the list of instruments made by the Council of the European Union which are designated for the purpose of section 8B of the Immigration Act 1971. Thirdly, Common Position 1998/725/CFSP of 14th December 1998 is removed from that list because it has been repealed by Common Position 2001/155/CFSP. Any person named by or under a designated instrument, or of a description specified in it, will be excluded from the United Kingdom (subject to the exceptions specified in article 3 of the Immigration (Designation of Travel Bans) Order 2000). This Order also revokes the Immigration (Designation of Travel Bans) (Amendment) Order 2000, which amended that list of designated instruments.
