ROAD TRAFFIC

Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment) (No.4) Regulations 2001

  Made 31st July 2001 
  Laid before Parliament 2nd August 2001 
  Coming into force 27th August 2001 

The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 89(3), (4)(b) and (5) and 105(1), (3) and (4) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 [1], after consulting with representative organisations in accordance with section 195(2) of that Act and with the approval of the Treasury [2], hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement
     1. These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment) (No.4) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 27th August 2001.

Amendment of Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations 1999
    
2. The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations 1999[3] are amended in accordance with regulation 3 below.

     3. For the table in Schedule 5 (Fees for practical and unitary tests) there shall be substituted the table in the Schedule to these Regulations.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations further amend the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations 1999 as follows.

Regulation 3 and the Schedule amend the fees payable upon an application for a practical or for a unitary driving test where the test is to be conducted on or after the coming into force of these Regulations.

Practical and unitary driving test fees for car and motor cycle tests were last increased for tests booked on or after 4th May 1999.

Practical and unitary driving test fees for lorry and bus tests were last increased for tests booked on or after 1st April 1998.

The following tables show the new fees with the percentage change in brackets:
