The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 8 of the Law of Distress Amendment Act 1888[1] and section 3 of the Law of Distress Amendment Act 1895[2], hereby makes the following Rules: -
1.
These Rules may be cited as the Distress for Rent (Amendment) Rules 2001 and shall come into force on 1st April 2002.
2.
In Appendix 3 to the Distress for Rent Rules 1988[3], the entries relating to Chepstow and Monmouth shall be deleted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
These Rules are consequential on the closure, by virtue of the Civil Courts (Amendment) Order 2001, of the county courts at Chepstow and Monmouth and remove references to it from the list of county courts in Appendix 3 to the Distress for Rent Rules 1988.
