The A6 Trunk Road (South of Leicester to A14) (Detrunking) Order 2004

  Made 3rd July 2004 
  Coming into force 20th September 2004 

The Secretary of State for Transport has made this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2], and of all other enabling powers:

     1. This Order may be cited as the A6 Trunk Road (South of Leicester to A14) (Detrunking) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 20th September 2004.

    
2. In this Order - 

     3. The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road from the date on which the Order comes into force.

THE SCHEDULE

LENGTH OF THE TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD


The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated between the junction with the A563 (at Oadby, south of Leicester) (marked `A' on the plan) and the junction with the A14 (near Rothwell) (marked `B' on the plan), in the Counties of Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. It is shown by broad black dashes on the plan and is approximately 29.5km in length.
